P20 steel is a highly versatile engineering material. It is referred as a normal level plastic mould
steel in pre-hardened condition. It can also be case hadened or nitrided to achieve maximum
surface hardness. Typical applications for this steel include Bolsters, machine cut plastic moulds,
injection mloulds, die holders & deep set moulds.
We are keep plates of this grade in stock on regular basis.

P20 + Ni
P20 + Ni is a plastic mould tool steel, used mainly for plastic injection die moulds. It can taken as
advanced version of P20 having around 1% of Nickle content having a positive impact on strength
and hardenability. It also has better polishability thus giving better production quality of moulds.
Major applications include die casting dies for Zinc, injection moulds, synthetic plastic moulds
especially for large plastic moulds highly stressed in core.

SS1.2316
1.2316 steel is a chromium-molybdenum steel which also referred as stainless steel plastic mould
steel with improved corrosion resistence properties. It oiers good polishability, toughness and heat
resistant while alsobeing wear resistant. It is normally viewed one of the best steel for platic mould
applicaations especially in humid environment.
It is mainly used for plastic injection moulds, in connection with chemically aggressive and acidic
plastics such as thermoplastics & for PVC arminoplastics, extrusion tools, compressor parts and
for special machine parts in the food industry
We are keeping round bars and plates of this grade on regular basis.

760 to 800 °C for about 4 to 5 hours; slow controlled cooling of 10 to 20 °C per hour to about 650 °C;
further cooling in air, max. 230 HB
Hardening:
1030 to 1050 °C,15 to 30 minutes keeping curing temperature, quenching in water/oil
obtainable hardness: 50-54 HRC
Tempering:
Slow heating to tempering temperature immediately after hardening. Minimum time in furnace: 1
hour per 25 mm part thickness
